A First Aid Course will take 1-3 hours of face-to-face learning, depending on which First Aid Course you take.
The online First Aid course module includes reading and a multiple-choice questionnaire that you can do in your own time. Simply complete this
e-Learning prior to face-to-face training and assessment so you can save face to face time on the day of your course.
The validity period for each First Aid certificate is shown below.
A refresher course is recommended to renew your certificate.
- HLTAID009 – Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation – 12 months
- HLTAID011 – Provide first aid – 3 years
- HLTAID012 – Provide an emergency first aid response in an education and care setting – 3 years
Yes, the First Aid Statements of Attainment we provide will be recognised wherever you go throughout Australia.
Port Mac First Aid is under the Nationally Recognised and Registered Training Organisation of ABC First Aid, RTO 3399
Yes you can receive your certificate on the same day in most cases. It will be sent direct to your email.
Exceptions to this may be when courses are attended on a weekend or close to end of day.

Yes, you gain Continuing Professional Development (CPD) by training with Port Mac First Aid.
Our First Aid training is endorsed and recommended as CPD training for members of both the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) and the Australian College of Nursing (ACN).
The minimum age to attend a course without an adult is 14 years.
Children between 10 years and 13 years of age can attend accompanied by an adult.
The adult attending will also be required to pay for their certificate.

Yes. A person with a disability can attend our courses.
Regulations require students to perform specific activities to attain full certification. If these activities are not performed, a Statement of Attendance would be issued instead.
For certification, a successful student would need to demonstrate use of all their senses in relation to monitoring a casualty and observing potentially dangerous surroundings.
Another requirement is being able to kneel on the floor to perform CPR on a manikin for 2 minutes, uninterrupted.
